KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 7): Bursa Malaysia Bhd is to collaborate with intelligent
solutions provider World'Vest Base Inc (WVB) to offer value-added data
solutions.
In a statement, Bursa said it will provide relevant market data from Malaysia,
while WVB will provide international financial and company-specific
fundamental data.
Both data sets will be made available through a new platform called "DIBots",
which can be accessed through subscription.
Bursa chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift said companies
need to leverage on opportunities provided by value-added data
services in order to be agile, highlighting the importance of precise insights.
"To address the information asymmetry of the market, participating
organisations (POs) can leverage on this platform which will offer daily,
relevant trade statistics," he added. "We believe DIBots can emerge as the
benchmark for service differentiation among other data service providers by
offering expanded data sets not commonly available in the market," said Umar.
WVB chairman and CEO Philippe O'Piette said DIBots will enable the local
bourse to expand its digital offerings to capital market stakeholders.
"This value-added data proposition, delivered through a one-stop platform,
will provide customers with unique and predictive insights at a highly
affordable subscription pricing," said O'Piette.
The DIBots analytics platform is targeted for a soft launch in August, in
collaboration with the Malaysian Investor Relations Association and selected
POs.
Shares in Bursa Malaysia finished eight sen or 0.77% lower at RM10.36, valuing
the exchaage at some RM8.38 billion. Some 3.75 million shares were traded
